Sometimes in internet marketing, you really don’t know what is going to be effective anymore. You find a niche that seems unsaturated, great! But why? Are people not there yet because they are not aware, or is the niche isn’t worth anything? Note: When I refer to niche here, I mean micro niche keyword zeroed in laser pointer type niche example – a information product about farmville.
For instance, I decided that I would experiment with some facebook advertisements. Sure, sounds like a good deal, target people by their age, demographic, likes, gender, interests, and activities. Seems like it would be easy to zero in on a buying market. Well, like all things in life, you can suck at something or you can be good at it.
I created a facebook advertisement campaign, using automatic bids for women and men 18-34 with farmville listed in their interests. I showed then a direct offer for a guide to farmville, farmville secrets, a famous product in the clickbank marketplace. To say the least, it was very ineffective. I was auto bidding about 50 cents a click ( going to need 1/32 to convert to beak even). To say the least, no one baught anything. Maybe this demographic is composed of farmville experts with no need for extra tips and secrets reguarding farmville.
So, you live and you learn. Honestly at 50 cents per click, it can be hard to break even on anything! Right now I am in the process of testing a new ad network selling per view advertisement for 2 cents a click on some very targeted traffic. More on this to come.
