Lion eats gazzel – ethical?

July 29th, 2010

Often, we’d like to think of things in terms of good and evil, jedi or sith, liberal conservative, and most perhaps ethical or unethical. Sometimes, however, the lines humans arbitrarily create do not correspond to most of natures events. Surely, most people would like to think of themselves as ethical, making the world an over better place, and providing value to society. A lion with die without food, in order to eat the lion kills a zebra, in your opinion is this event ethical? Please leave a comment

A Quick note on ROI

July 24th, 2010

So, I recently watched the movie “Wall Street” – a great movie, which I highly recommend, it seems there is also a sequel coming out soon. Anyhow, in stock trading and currency trading (or pretty much anything that involves making money) the most important metric that is discussing is ROI – return on investment. From gambling to business to forex trading a high ROI is always desired. The average Joe trying to trade stocks may be more than satisfied with a 25% ROI, he invests ten thousand and returns with 12,500 – (25% ROI) not too shabby – thats what most would say, but I’m here to offer a different point of view.

Picture this, Instead of average Joe investing 10 grand to return 13 grand, he spends 10 dollars on a hostgator hosting plan, and a free domain name. Joe learns basic html, or perhaps just installs wordpress so he can create content for his website. Joe creates some content, and includes some relevant affiliate links, such that he will earn a commission if someone clicks on his affiliate link and generates a sale. Now, Joe needs to generate traffic – get visitors to his website, because in this game traffic equals money. Joe works 9-5 and doesn’t have the skill set to market his website, so he goes somewhere ( such as odesk.com ) and hires someone in India to conduct search engine optimization and search engine marketing, social media marketing etc. Generally, a very skilled english speaking worker will do these tasks for under 3 dollars per hour. Joe wants to invest 300 dollars a month on outsourcing, at 3 dollars per hour this generates 100 man hours per month ( not too shabby ). In the first month Joe generates 1000 dollars in affiliate commisions and has only spent (300 + 10) his ROI is hovering above 300% which is quite remarkable – this type of ROI is rarely seen in average stock and forex trading.

Google Caffiene

July 19th, 2010

So, after reviewing the basic idea of google caffiene ( that it basically causes the spiders to index big sites FASTER ) it is clear that on-page optimization will once again become more important. Let me explain, when a spider indexes a large amount of your website content you control a mass of quality hyperlinks within that content. Because on page optimization allows for complete control over achor text, keyword proximity, and any other factors that contribute to high relevance links, you may leverage internal links to a greater degree than before, simply because the spider will be indexing content faster. That being said, there is talk about google caffiene being partial to recency of content, so the ‘freshness’ of content will become increasingly important. For bloggers, caffiene means that wordpress is still the place to be, for webmasters and seos, create a great internal linking structure! Cheers!

Moses Brown – Online Booty Call – big dating

June 28th, 2010

Sometimes when I surf the internet, I come across something extremely inspirational. Perhaps a new song, information product, or in this case, a new dating website? Online booty call is a break out dating site that I feel will have a LOT of growth to come. They have a very strong value proposition, combined with some classy youtube videos, and a killer viral marketing set up.

It doesn’t take long after seeing some of Online Booty Call’s youtube commercials to see that Mo Brown is doing it big. I mean wow, who wouldn’t want to be Mo Brown!? OBC is super streamlined, featuring facebook connect, and a quick sign up process, combined with a super efficient product and website. Also, the month rates for OBC are around seventy percent of the market average. It’s safe to say the Online Booty Call is a killer dating website.

OBC offers a cool cash give away for members who invite facebook friends, or friends from other networks. Can someone say Link Bait? Wow, the guys over at OBC really know what they are doing. My prediction, Online Booty Call is entering the big time dating leagues. Check it out

Blogging to the Bank

June 26th, 2010

Blogging – what a truly amazing thing. Anyone who can write and has access to an iphone or computer can create a blog, and subsequently generate passive income. Some of the wealthiest people in the world generate passive income from blogs. Furthermore, since you can write about what ever you want, blogging can be a lot more enjoyable that pushing random affiliate products online.

1) Blogging Basics – Anyone can create a blog for free at blogger.com – this is a great option for people who do not want to risk anything. There is an easy way to integrate adsense or affiliate links into your blog, and provided you direct traffic to your blog, you can make money immediately. However, you should know that it takes quite a bit of traffic to generate any real income with adsense. A good rule of thumb for adsense is that you will make about 10 dollars per 1000 unique visitors. Of course, with targeted traffic good affiliate offers can pay you 10 dollars per 10 visitors! A great place to start promoting affiliate offers is clickbank.com or markethealth.com

2) Blogging for Profit – Bloggers willing to put up a mini investment of 8 dollars per month for hostgator.com can host their very own blog with there own domain ( example: internetbusinessmakemoney.org ) – upon signing up with hostgator you will recieve cpanel details which you will use to log into your new blog. From your cpanel locate a small smiley face icon labeled “fantastico” – click on it and install wordpress on your desired domain. After this, you’ll log into your new wordpress blog via yoursite.com/wp-admin – from their you can begin posting! Inserting affiliate links into relevant posts is generally considered a good way to monetize (big word for ‘make money’) on your blog – so for example if you write a blog post about how to get white teeth, then somewhere in the post, include a hyperlink to a free trial of a tooth whitening pen ( again, sign up for an account with markethealth.com to promote health products and earn commision ).

3) Getting traffic to your blog – even if you have a wonderful blog, bursting with mouth watering content, and are promoting the hottest most relevant affiliate offers possible, you will not make money without traffic. So how do you get traffic to your blog? I good way to make a solid foundation is to post comments on other blogs, when you leave comments, be sure to mention your blogs web address, or even better create a hyper link (for example http://www.yoursite.com ) to your blog. Create a facebook group for your blog and invite friends to join. And finally, find relevant forums to post on and build links to your blog. Traffic generation is a very deep subject that can learned about in my other posts.

And finally, for serious bloggers looking to take their blog to the next level, this product can literally change your financial situation over night. Cheers!

Make Money Blogging

15 step plan for making money online

June 14th, 2010

1) Keyword Research – What are people searching for? Research keywords with the “free google keyword tool” ( google it ). Find a target search phrase. You can either try to target a high volume, high competition search phrase or perhaps a less competitive smaller keywords. Remember, getting your website to rank for high volume search queries on google requires an advanced understanding of internal and external link building.

2) Domain name selection – I am a fan of including an exact keyword match in domain names. Some will argue that random domain names, such as ‘digg’ are more memorable and spread by word of mouth quicker. However, having an exact keyword match in your domain basically guarantees you a better shot at ranking high.

3) Social Book marking – Whenever I launch a site I do a round of social bookmarking on all the popular social media sites. Usually its a real pain in the ass. I use Bookmarking demon for automatic bookmarking. However, without a captcha breaker its still hard work!

4) Blog comments – Focus on blogs with few outbound links, so that a link to your website passes more link juice. I use blog comment demon to search for blogs that are relevant and have under 10 outbound links.

5) Facebook marketing – Create a facebook group for your site, try to invite people to join, every new member counts as a link in google’s eyes.

6) Create a youtube channel – Create a relevant video, with keywords in the tags and title, link to this video somewhere on your own site. Embedding works great.

7) Install google analytics – (google search this) Sign up for an account and ad the code to your website. Greate internet marketing is done by measuring everything. The more you can measure, the more you know!

8) Promote free trials – free trials will make you more money, faster! A great market for this is health products. Hence why free trial acai berry and white strips were the craze a few months ago.

9) Join Forums – Link building can be tedious, especially forum marketing, but the results are well worth it.

10) Write articles – probably the most tedious part of internet marketing, once again though, the results are well worth it

11) Link bait – you will need quality service or content as link bait, and a lot of traffic who want to share it. Once it gets rolling, it becomes steady extra traffic

12) Stream line your website – eliminate extra forms and widgets that don’t increase conversions of visitors to buyers.

13) Submit your site to yahoo directory – This will help with page rank quite a bit, and of course your visibility on yahoo.

14) Keep page load time down – often people don’t even know that the page load is literally killing off their traffic. Keep it under 2 seconds always

15)

Multi Micro Niche verses focusing efforts

June 14th, 2010

Greetings all,

I often get asked if it would be more efficient to make many micro niche sites or to focus 100% on building one great website. I believe the answer is a healthy balance between the two options. I personally like the trill of investing most of my effort in a single website I deem to be a profitable idea, optimizing for profit and focusing on long term traffic generation. Then again managing multiple micro sites is a well practiced method among internet marketing pros like george brown, author of google sniper and traffic ultimatum.

I think a healthy and profitable balance for any internet marketer is

1) Have a blog

2) Create membership website or list building website. A website with 40 thousand members is worth money, and 40 thousand targeted email addresses is worth quite a bit as well. Email list building is a great way to create long term passive income.

3) create no more than 10 micro sites aimed at fully dominating a keyword with long tail keyword potential

4) From their focus on article and video marketing and product development

Some would disagree with modest collection of sites, claiming that volume is more profitable than quality. At some point you must strike a balance between the amount of sites you own and the quality that you can maintain on them.

Serious Advice for YOUR first website

May 13th, 2010

If you feel comfortable blogging about a topic on a consistent basis, use wordpress as your content management system, because in the long run, it can build a substantial internal link network, and it is quick and easy to make posts.

However, if you are going after a micro niche keyword aka (laser targeted traffic source generally exact match keywords that get about 500-3000 unique queries on google per month) then use basic html to construct a simple page copy with perfect keyword distribution – more on these later.

An experiment with outbound links

May 13th, 2010

In internet marketing, webmasters are constantly looking for an edge against the competition. Who doesn’t want a high google ranking, and all the cash associated with one. I have observed in some cases pages with less than 6 outbound links ( even if those are internal links ) rank higher for the title, and text compared to sites with internal linking structures that include more than 6 links per static page. This is only one of the bizarre observations that still stun me today about google rankings.

Google, uses a computer algorithm to crawl (search) content and assign the relevance of the content. That being said, no one except google knows the exact algorithm that ranks web pages in the search results, and therefore we can only speculate to a degree why certain pages appear where they do on the SERPS.

It is my personal recommendation that for dynamic social networking sites, use unique meta tags for each page. Google doesn’t like to see ever ypage in a large site having the same meta data! UNLESS (not sure why I’m giving this secret away, haha) you want to rank high for a single set of search words in a uniform title tag.

Also, try using a maximum of 6 total outbound links per page, and make then all internal links in context, meaning the hyperlinks appear as anchor text, IN THE MIDDLE a paragraph that is relevant to the anchor text

for example

Welcome to cutepetspace.com the world wide web’s greatest cutepet website for pet photo sharing, and pet video sharing!

Formula for success

1) minimum of 6 links per page (all internal links)

2) dynamic title and description tags

3) Targeted anchor text IN CONTEXT

Result – your pages will naturally rank higher for the given title tag and page content. See it in action here hot singles book !
